Dear Bob,
I hope you will reconsider your decision of leaving the list, not just
because of guild solidarity ( I see that you are a historian too) but
because I have enjoyed your comments and contributions very much.
 I want to use this opportunity to say that I am to blame too for
participation in pointless  discussions here on the list, and I think that
it is high time to stop, and to return to the very reason this list is
founded: nourishing critical thinking, creative discussions and evaluation
of the work of Noam Chomsky.
 To make myself perfectly clear, I want hesitate to answer any personal or
racist invective, but I think that it is a pitty to leave this list to
people who obviously wish ( or are being paid for) this list to be
destroyed.
