group working for a just resolution to the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

Bereaved Families on Both Sides of the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict
Moving Forward :
Hope and Peace/ Tikvah v'Shalom
Panelists will tell their personal stories of loss and convey their
desire to end the conflict by building a strong partnership for peace.
They will show that it is possible to end the cycle of hatred and
revenge and, Instead, seek, International support for a just peace.
Panelists
Dr. Rahib Essawi, a Palestinian, is a professor at Al Queds University
(Jerusalem) who has lost her mother, a brother, and her 17-year-old
nephew in the Middle East conflict.
Yitzak Frankenthal, an Orthodox Jew whose 19-year old son, an IDF
soldier, was killed by Hamas militants in 1995. Together with
Palestinian and Jewish parents, Frankenthal co-founded the Parents
Circle, which promotes reconciliation and peace with the Palestinians.
Amiram Goldin, an engineer, and Tilda Goldin lost their youngest
20-year-old son in a suicide bombing In August 2002. Amiram is
currently the project manager for a joint Arab-Israeli industrial park
in Sachnin in the Galilee. Tilda Is currently an economist at the
Treasury Ministry. They have two other sons.
Tamara Rabinowitz is a retired Israeli school and university teacher,
who after her son's death in 1987 by 'friendly fire' in Lebanon created
a non-profit shop to honor the memory of her son which helps support
the needy.
