Hello accessibility/usability/assistive technology friends and colleagues,

I have just completed a major revision to my Windows Macros FAQ. The new
version is 3.0:

http://www.cantoraccess.com/macro-docs/macrosfaq.htm

Important changes include:

1. A new section on "smart" macros, i.e., macros with built-in intelligence:
http://www.cantoraccess.com/macro-docs/macrosfaq.htm#smart

2. More information on screen reader compatibility:
http://www.cantoraccess.com/macro-docs/macrosfaq.htm#accessible

3. Comments on the ease of learning and using macro software:
http://www.cantoraccess.com/macro-docs/macrosfaq.htm#ease

The ability to script macros is an indispensable skill for assistive
technologists and individuals who develop accommodations
for students and workers with disabilities. Because the field is
ever-changing, the Windows Macros FAQ is on ongoing project.
Feel free to comment on, correct, and clarify the FAQ.
I try to tweak it two or three times a year, and
do a major revision every 12 months or so.

During the coming months I am scheduled to lead workshops and
lecture on macros at several events:

* CSUN in Los Angeles in March.
* RESNA in Phoenix in June.
* Various conferences in Denver and Toronto between now and June.

For information on these events, see
www.cantoraccess.com/upcoming.htm.
