Hi,

I just want you to know that my newly implanted ear is working ever since it was activated last Thursday, and I'm starting to understand a little speech.  In fact, I'm writing this message without using my more advanced side!  Not all of the words are clear, but it helps to know what kind of sounds I can expect to hear.
