Freud attempted an interpretation of the malaise in the Civilization
with an interpretation about Moses.

His essay did not appear very successful. During several decades,
except for an energetic rejection (Velikovsky), nothing was added.
Recently, one of the representative Egyptologists of our time
published an essay on the Mosaic Discourse, including Freud as one of
its ultimate author. This book (Moses the Egyptian, 1997) displays a
remarkable field of 'freudian symptoms' calling for an analysis.
