Some things you might like to look at if you haven't already are
Cohler, B., & Galatzer-Levy, R. (1992). Pyschoanalysis and the classroom:
intent and meaning in learning and teaching. N. Szajnberg (Ed.), Educating
the emotions: Bruno Bettelheim and psychoanalytic development. (pp. 41-91).
New York: Plenum.
Field, K., Cohler, B., & Wool, G. (1989). Learing and Education,
Psychoanalytic Perspective. Madison, CT: International University Press.
Galatzer-Levy, R. (1993). When you're stupid and things don't work: The
analysis of a late adolescent with a learning disability. K. Field, E.
Kaufman, & C. Saltzman Emotions and learning reconsidered: Interactive
approaches to learning problems . New York: Gardner.
The Szajnberg and Field books have many additional papers. This has been a
topic that has fascinated me. As I have tried to work on it I have found two
things that surprised me: 1) many teachers are much more open in exploring
these issues than I would have guessed. Once they understand the ideas they
quickly relate them to their own experience. 2) When I tried to work on
these questions with candidates and faculty at an analytic institute I
discovered that it was very difficult of this group to think about these issues.
