I am not one who believes in online psychotherapy and would not
practice it with clients. However, it seems that internet based chat
could be a useful tool in allowing a sharing of ideas/approaches to
conducting Object-Relations psychoanalysis or other psychoanalytic
approaches. The use of IRC for support groups is going much further
with this idea. I was just interested in seeing if anyone was interested
in exploring the use/limits of online chat for psychoanalytic-based
exploration. In the original context of psychoanalysis, the pt. does not
see the analyst and instead there was the "blank screen" that was to
be used. Anyone interested in exploring this let me know. I'm sure I could
come up with an issue to explore.
Thanks,
Bruce
