Dear Colleagues,

After 18 years of work in telehealth, I am more than pleasantly surprised to see our mainstream colleagues' growing interest in telehealth. (Frankly, I'm a bit shocked.)

The Georgia Psychological Association meeting sold out this weekend: http://gapsychology.org/displaycommon.cfm?an=1&subarticlenbr=420

I'll be addressing them for a keynote and 2 workshops related to practicing online and with other aspects of technology. We'll cover the legal and ethical issues involved with, SKYPE, FACEBOOK, Google, YELP, and most of all, creative clinical uses for using video. I'll cover informed consent, practicing over state lines, and naming 28 video conferencing platforms that claim to be HIPAA compliant, successful reimbursement models -- and a whole lot more.

If you are on the east coast and wanted to attend a live conference, but were not able to get into the Georgia meeting, you may want to think about attending the Cincinnati meeting the very next weekend, April 27. It will be a 6-hour workshop on similar topics. See Cincinnati Academy of Professional Psychology, at http://www.cappnet.org/asp/news.asp?ID=6

BTW, if you're a psychologist, look for a new division we're trying to form at the APA, called "Society for Technology and Psychology." We'll having our petition come out on the APA website within the next few days. I'll send you a link when its up. If you're not a psychologist, we are planning to make this Division friendly and inviting to EVERYONE interested in technology, so watch for my messages and you'll be getting special invitations.

Thank you for your support all these years. I think we're finally getting somewhere :)

Marlene
