ANONYMOUS: Test Results Out of Range?

Thyroid Group;

I need your help, please.

Here are my latest lab results, for your open
comments, please. My doctor is uncomfortable
with these results and has referred me to an
endocrinologist. I'm scared.

I have been taking Armour thyroid for
many years, and lately I have increased
my dose to 10 small pills per day:

10 X 30 mg = 300 mg per day

I feel moderately well most days, but I wish
I had more energy and I wish I was more alert.
I'm about 80 pounds over weight at 245. I sleep
well, but not when other people sleep - my
sleep period is from 2 AM to 10 AM lately.
I'm male and in my early fifties, doing mostly
sedentary/office work.

I do not know the meaning of the many
abbreviations below. I also don't know what
several of the unusual words mean! If you can
explain what they mean, please, I will greatly
appreciate your help.

Out Of Range?

The lab report identifies these seven items as
out of the expected range:

Free cortisol (in 24 hour urine) HIGH

WBC LOW

Polys-auto LOW

Glucose HIGH

T4-T Uptake Index HIGH

TSH LOW

Thyroxine, Free HIGH

*************************************************

Need I be fearful? I actually expected the
thyroid results about this way. What is the
long term disadvantage (if any) of having
my TSH this low? My thinking is that I
want my thyroid to be idling - under no
pressure. But I've read lately that there might
be reasons to keep the feedback system
working somewhat - but I didn't understand
I guess, because I can't recall now.

That high glocose level is unexpected. What
should I do to follow up?

I will also appreciate any advice about how to
screen the available endocrinologists, and
what to say to get the selected endocrinologist
to treat me as a patient rather than a set of
sterile lab values.

Thank you for your kind assistance.

J.C.
