The enlarged thyroid gland growing into the chest is exactly what happened to
me.  Mine was also discovered by x-ray. It was 6x10 cm and displaced my
trachea and esophogas. It had to be removed .   The Physicians thought it was
caused by a late in life pregnancy ie. hormones.  My chiropractor thought it was
caused by a virus. All tests before surgury came out normal.
