Here are my thoughts on this.  I have Hashi's, diagnosed over 20 years
ago, and Synthroid worked, for awhile, then I went into a fog from the
combined effects of pernicious anemia and becoming increasingly more
hypothyroid with normal looking TSH.

I have never been able to tolerate birth control pills (had every
symptom on their check list), caffeine, allergy medications (the old
kind), cold medications, etc, etc, etc.

I finally found a great gynecologist about a year ago.  I told her all
that, and, almost apologetically, that I had switched to a natural
thyroid med.  She said based on my history, I obviously have a hard time
dealing with any synthetic chemicals in my body.  I stared at her for
quite awhile.  It was so profoundly simple, and I'd never made that
connection.  Now, when I tell doctors that I have a hard time tolerating
synthetic medications, and give them examples of my thyroid and female
hormone replacements, they better understand how to deal with
me--sometimes.

Amazing what having the right words and the right supports can do.

Dear BK and Other Listers:   From my own experience and reading, I
believe
everyone would do well to insist upon Armour Thyroid for whatever
apparent
thyroid malfunction they are experiencing,  even if nothing shows up
in lab
tests.    _____
