They might be able to give referrals to someone they trust if they can't
treat the problem themselves.
If I were told that I had the possibility of cancer, I'd also look for a good
cancer specialist (oncologist) who was not "surgery or treatment happy" -- if
such doctors exist -- for a second opinion.
I've had other autoimmune stuff since birth, and I've had nodules, Hashimotos
and Wilson's Thyroid Syndrome -- and hyperinsulinism (no surprise for those
who know about the interconnection between bio-systems) for at least 45 years,
but no cancer (and a lot of incompetent doctors along the way). So, I can't
answer personally about cancer issues.
