Part of the funding for the St. John's project was CETA money. Ivan Myjer was involved with the program and might be of assistance.

Hi Christopher:

I wonder if you have any information on the stonemason program at St. John the Divine. It was a little
before we moved to New York (that was 1991). I am doing a piece for the editorial pages (probably just
a web Opinionator) suggesting that the residents of NYCHA projects, which are falling apart, be trained
to do basic maintenance work. As you probably know, the NYCHA buildings are falling apart. My suggestion
is that rentals be trained to do some maintenance work in the hope that their training could later be used
to give them jobs. We were not in New York yet, but I seem to recall that some of the people trained by
St. John-the-Divine found jobs because of their training. Am I making this up?
I will be very grateful for any help you can give me. (My E-mail may have changed since we were last in
touch.)
Best,
Jayne=
