Pearson is one such company, with divisions around the world, that is progressively working to make their education and assessment products accessible to all learners, including those with physical, cognitive or learning disabilities. For many of us, the process has been slow, but it is encouraging and exciting to see that real progress is becoming a reality. Although Pearson’s Accessibility for School Assessment team's primary focus is on assessment products, they also periodically provide education and assistance across the company on other accessibility issues. During this presentation, members of the Accessibility for School Assessment team will discuss efforts and recommendations around implementing accessibility in content and product development. Discussion will include topics such as building an accessibility team, promoting an accessible work environment, creating an education plan to train internal staff, identifying and implementing accessibility principles and guidelines, increasing the accessibility of products and platforms, and other challenges.
