The Basics of PDF Remediation: a fee-based 4-part Webinarseries

Presenter: Karen McCall, M.Ed.

April 3' 10, 17 and 24

Times: 11 Pacific, noon Mountain, 1 Central or 3 Eastern

This four part series introduces new features for PDF remediation professionals in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and provides a review of PDF 2 Tags for specific document components. Although the word “basics” is in the webinar title, those of us who remediate PDF documents often find ourselves quickly in the “advanced” remediation techniques. Some of those are covered in this webinar too! If you remediate PDF documents to be accessible for those of us with disabilities or if you are just starting your PDF remediation career, this webinar will guide you through some of the things you’ll find and show you techniques for creating more accessible PDF documents.

•Week 1: An overview of new features in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC and a review of Tags, Order and Content Panels as well as a review of Tags.

•Week 2: Converting well-structured Microsoft Office documents and common remediation techniques.

•Week 3: More advanced remediation techniques such as finding and remediating Tags, creating a Tag from a selection and using the Role Map for “custom Tags.”

•Week 4: Using the Reading Order Tool, Table Editor and accessibility full check as part of an overall quality assurance process.

Note: topics and the week they occur in may vary depending on participants questions and needs. If you want something covered, let Karen know!
