Tom, you replied privately to me, which is fine, but for a couple of reasons, I am sending this reply back to the list. One reason is I share something others might find helpful. Secondly, hopefully someone will advise if I need to do something different to prevent my sending multiple messages. Interesting about your receiving multiple messages. I always get a message saying my message was shared; today, I got two of those. On top of that, I receive 2 copies of messages I send to this group. It is weird for sure. If I need to do something to change this, hopefully someone will advise. I confirmed the "Sent to" field only has the group's address 1 time. In my other message(s), the group's address and your personal address may have been present. Meaning you receive 1 message from the list and a second went straight to you. As for renaming folders, I am happy you got it done, but apologize for the confusion. There is something I should have explained. After you arrow over to "Folder," when in any folder menu, and finish the task at hand, the next time you go to any folder's menu, if you have not closed Outlook and/or rebooted, focus will be on "Folder." So, there would be no need to arrow right; just down arrow. So, listen to what is said after tapping Alt. If you hear "Folder," there is no need to right arrow; just down arrow, tab twice to "Rename Folder," etc. If after hearing "Folder," you right arrow 2 times, you will hear "Help," because it is an option, 2 positions right of "Folder" on the menu bar. Remember, if something doesn't sound/seem right, you can always tap Escape and start again. Hopefully that makes sense/helps. Glad you got the folder name changed. Again, sorry for the confusion. Okay.it took a little doing, but I done did it! I was confused as to whether I had to arrow over twice to get to "folders" or what; not sure I can even explain what I did! But now that folder has a new name and it reads as I need it to! Thanks a bumnch! Katrina: Afraid that's not gonna work! For one thing, I get as far as where you said to arrow over two times (after I've gotten inside of the folder I want to rename; it does, upon me hitting the "alt" key say "folders. However, when I arrow over two times (I think that's what you told me) then it says, "help!" That's not what I want, is it? Speaking of Help.I think I need it-LOL; while I'm thinking of it, I got either three or four copies of your message; probably a server thing, but thought you'd want to know in case others get on you about sending duplicate messages! Tom, try the following. I recently sent these steps to a friend; she was successful. I hope you will be as well. Renaming Folders 1. Use Control "y" to open the list of folders. 2. Select the desired folder, or subfolder, by arrowing down or using first-letter navigation. Remember, to access subfolders, you may have to open the primary folder (e.g. "Recipes" is primary and "Salads" is a subfolder. Open folders by tapping right arrow; close them via left arrow. 3. Once the desired folder/subfolder is selected, tap Enter. Focus moves inside of that folder. If you haven't put messages in that folder, it will be blank of course. Otherwise, focus will be on the list of messages in that folder. 4. Open folder settings by tapping/releasing "Alt" (either button left or right of Spacebar. 5. Arrow right 2 times; "Folder Tab" should be selected/heard. 6. Tap Down Arrow 1 time. 7. Right Arrow 2 times over until you hear/see, "action Rename Folder". Tap Enter. 8. You will hear the original folder name. Type the new name; the old name is erased when you type the first letter. Or, edit by moving the cursor/deleting. If you edit, make sure the cursor is at the end of the new folder name. If you choose not to edit, but rather just start typing/replacing what was there, the cursor should be at the end of the new folder name. When the cursor is at the end of the new folder name, tap Enter, and you will be back in the list of folders. 9. In order to get JAWS to announce the new folder name, you may have to navigate up/down the list. 10. At this point, you may want to tap Left Arrow until at the top of folders (e.g. the Tom main folder), and arrow down 1 time to "In Box," or use first-letter navigation (the letter "I") to select the "In Box." Once selected, tap Enter.
