Washington:  The nation's Roman Catholic bishops
have almost unamimously jumped into the intense
public debate on gay marriage, overwhelmingly
approving
a document that condemns same-sex unions.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have almost
unanimously approved the statement, 234-3, at its
annual meeting.  "To uphold God's intent for marriage
in which sexual relations have their proper and
exclusive place between men and women in a state
of marriage is not to offend the dignity of homosexual
personas."

[The bishops are full of shit!  This is a direct
assault on the human rights of gay people.  The
Catholic Church has no right to take this hypocritical
position since many Catholic priests themselves are
gay, and many of them in the United States have also
a history of abusing children sexually, AND THE
BISHOPS HAVE RESISTED ALL LEGAL INVESTIGATION INTO
THESE CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES!

[In the United States, the Catholic Church is losing a
lot of money because of these abuses--the result of
lawsuits against the church.  For many Americans the
Catholic Church lost all moral credibility a long time
ago.  --hkJ]
