Le etymologia vade al origine german retro. 

Austria es 

Oesterreich 

in germano, dunque litterarimente le 

"Oster Reich", dunque le "Imperia Est". 

Originalmente le nomine habeva le forma 

Ostarriki 

(del consonante k se formava un consonante ch, dunque "forte h"). De iste
forma (o del forma plus tarde german Österreich) veni le equivalente hungare 

osztrák 

e le forma prototypic romance (o latin?) 

austriac- . 

Le nomine geographic 

Austria 

me pare esser un latinisation non considerante le forma original prototypic
Ostarriki - Österreich, proque le k (o ch in le germano hodierne standarde)
non appare in illo. Illo se creava al exemplo de altere nomines de paises
con le desinentia -ia (Germania, Francia, etc.)
