Respicer = retro spectar.  In latine "a" breve e "e" breve in un
syllaba aperte (le syllaba termina con un vocale) cambia ad "i" breve:
ergo amicus -> inimicus, facio -> efficio, frango -> confringo, specio
-> respicio.

Hospicio va ab latino "hospitium", de "hospes" (in caso genitivo
"hospitis") - un estraniero o un hospite.
