It must indeed be a very sad news for Shyngle Nyassi+AGA-s family,as it is for all peace loving people of our beloveth Nation,to read your letter caption:AUTHORITIES SAY NYASSI IS NOT UNDER THE CUSTODY OF THE POLICE,NIA OR ANY SECURITY FORCE.This means that they are denying the involvement of the legal forces, but have not made mention of the illegal force being nurtured under our eyes, and l would come to that later. As for me personally, the caption stroke me like a thunderbolt.l feel like l was sick, but l was not.l don+AGA-t think l know Shyngle personally and l don+AGA-t subscript to the party he is said to belong, but as a Gambian,my mind reflected on two things:-
1.Shyngle+AGA-s family and their state of mental health and psychological wellbeing. What about Shyngle himself?lf he is still with us on Earth, and denied his freedom and his faith left to a blind destiny. It is Shyngle today, but it could as well be any other Gambian tomorrow, who mistakenly or wilfully dances with the wrong steps.
2.l reflected on a Gambia with her innocent and tolerant peace loving people being drawn in a nightmare of senseless violence,as heard off or experient by some of us in the so-called developed Nations. What a retrogressive and destructive development.lt is not in any Government+AGA-S interest for such a rootless violence to show its ugly head above ground level without being trodden on.Remember that no one has a monopoly of violence,it is not the property of anyone, and everyone can own it.
l would commend Foroyaa for the great services being rendered to our Nation and her defenceless people in this trying moment of our Nations history and development.Keep up the good work and continue to demonstrate your impartiality and selflessness in the face of National disintegration and calamity.Continue the good examples and hopefully sound Gambians will follow suit.As l always say,Gambians must not allow bad politics to disintegrate us.Difference in opinions and ideas can only quicken our developmental phase and not to deter it.The cross fertilisation of ideas can only breed an informed, mature and critically minded civic society, which is a positive value and a foundation for any meaningful development.
Be assured that even your opponents appreciate your services.
Back to the subject matter, your letter to President Jammeh caption:-WHERE JUSTICE LIES ASLEEP,TYRANNY MUST CREEP IN THE DARK TO STEAL THE TREASURE OF FREEDOM,left me well convinced that the authorities would do something about the situation or take a clear cut position. The position of the authorities has only left me with doubts as to what Shyngle+AGA-s family and the entire Gambian Nation is to hear next about Shyngle.
The authorities have to do something about it,as there are accusing fingers pointing at them. They have blood stain on their hands too.The abduction or kidnapping of Shyngle is politically motivated.lf not political, then why Shyngle? Why not an apolitical ordinary citizen.
If we look into our political history and records since July 22,1994,one would come across abductions of a similar art and nature geared towards political opponents of the ruling party.Infact Shyngle has been a victim of such malpractices, together with Mr Juwara and others. That did not bar them from continuing their political opposition to the ruling party, which is a clear manifestation of the ineffectiveness of intimidation and its related vices.
During that period,Mr Juwara did expose that he was arrested and tortured not by Security forces, but civilians.Who are this civilians? What legal and moral authority do they have and exercise.?Where do they take their instructions from and in whose interest do they operate?Who is the paymaster?
We can all still remember the incident at Mansakonko, when a civil force in a paramilitary like situation, took the law in their own hands to expel Mr Juwara from LRD and nothing came out of it.Where were the Police,Security forces and the law that should have defended Mr Juwara+AGA-s constitutional rights. This happened in the presents of diplomats and dignitaries.Who are this civil force?Where do they obtain their instructions from and in whose interest do they operate?Who is the paymaster?
These are serious lessons of the recent historical records of our Nation State and something must be done to redress the situation.Forces within and outside the country must exert pressure on the Government to act in time to avert National disintegration through violence.
My heart and sympathy goes to the Nyassi family under this difficult times.

+AD4-AUTHORITIES SAY NYASSI IS NOT UNDER THE CUSTODY OF THE POLICE, N.I.A. OR
+AD4-ANY SECURITY FORCE
+AD4-
+AD4-Letter To Shyngle Nyassi's Family
+AD4-
+AD4-
+AD4-We have been making efforts to find out what has happened to Shyngle Nyassi.
+AD4-We have addressed a number of letters to the Head of State and had requested
+AD4-for his release if he is detained by the State.
+AD4-
+AD4-There are definite laws which should govern the arrest and detention of
+AD4-individuals. We have made reference to these laws in the letters we
+AD4-addressed to the President, among others. However, we have come to gather
+AD4-that Shyngle Nyassi is not under the custody of the National intelligence
+AD4-Agency (NIA), the police or any security force.
+AD4-
+AD4-In short, he is not under lawful arrest and detention. This makes the
+AD4-situation a bit complicated. It simply means that Shyngle Nyassi has been
+AD4-abducted by people who are not pursuing law enforcement procedures.
+AD4-
+AD4-It is, therefore, necessary to take a new approach to the situation. The
+AD4-family members, who have witnessed his abduction, should immediately go to
+AD4-Brikama Police Station to give report of Shyngle Nyassi's abduction. They
+AD4-should ensure that an accurate report is given of what they saw. The matter
+AD4-would then be taken up from there.
+AD4-
+AD4-On the other hand, through this open letter, we hope that those who are
+AD4-currently holding Shyngle Nyassi under custody would understand the
+AD4-implications. If anything happens to him, the State will be compelled to
+AD4-investigate. The end result is that the person or persons involved will
+AD4-ultimately be the scapegoats. It is important for such people to bear in
+AD4-mind that such mysterious disappearances of people can never give credit to
+AD4-anybody they support.
+AD4-
+AD4-Claims that Shyngle Nyassi has been insulting President Jammeh cannot serve
+AD4-as defence for his abduction. This country has laws, and people should not
+AD4-take the law into their own hands. Once each person takes the law into his
+AD4-or her own hands, our society would be transformed into a jungle where the
+AD4-fittest survive. It is to the best interest of his abductors to take him
+AD4-back to his home before it is too late. The longer they take to act, and the
+AD4-more they subject him to any form of degradation, the bigger the crime and
+AD4-the severer the penalty.
+AD4-
+AD4-In your trying moments, as a family, please be assured of the support of all
+AD4-Gambians who want to see maturity displayed on all sides of the political
+AD4-spectrum so as to ensure peaceful co-existence among our people.
