World leaders felicitate President Jammeh on Muslim New Year

More world leaders continue to send letters of felicitation to the Gambian
leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh on the
occasion of the Muslim New Year (Hejira 1433).
The latest messages came from Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the
United Arab Emirates; Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and
Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai; and Mohammed
VI, the King of Morocco.
The messages read:
I am very pleased to seize the occasion of the Hegira New Year 1433 to
extend my heartfelt and warmest greetings to your Excellency, wishing the
Almighty God to grant you the privilege of celebrating this occasion again
in happiness and welfare, and your brotherly people with well-being and
prosperity, as well as on our Islamic Nation with glory and dignity.

On the occasion of the new Hegira Year, it gives me great pleasure to send
you my best wishes for good health, wellbeing and happiness. I also wish
your people further progress, stability and prosperity under your wise
leadership.
This is a special opportunity for us to remember the lofty values of
selflessness, brotherhood and solidarity underpinning the Hijra of Prophet
Muhammad – may peace and blessing be upon him. It also reminds us of the
principles of Justice, peace, moderation, coexistence and tolerance
characterizing Islam, and its rejection of all forms of extremism,
aggression and division.
The message of the Hijra is eternal. Our Ummah should realize the
historical and spiritual significance of this message and build on it to
promote joint action, sincere cooperation and active solidarity between the
countries of our Ummah. This should help us further consolidate our unity,
close our ranks, defend our just causes and make a fitting contribution to
human civilization.
I pray that Almighty God help us fulfill the aspirations of the African
peoples; ensure mutual understanding, dignity and social justice. May he
assist us in our endeavours to strengthen our brotherly bonds and promote
unity, security and stability in Africa.
