Indeed Yero. Political power is a grave responsibility. For those who actively seek it, my humble prayers goes out to them all. It is a noble task if one can do his/her best to be just and fair. But alas, how many of us can subjugate our prejudices and rule with fairness and rule of law?
It is an African nightmare Yero, my take is that, the presidents act contrary to the rule of law and engage in corrupt practises. Becus of that, they wish to cover up their track for as long as it takes. The ramification is that, we all end up getting trap in their disaster journey. and also those expert griouts for their personal interest further slow down the exit plans of the greedy head of states. They feed the presidents with so much nonsense about his quality, they continue deluding themselves as modern "Messiahs". No need to look too far, our own Jammeh Musa is hanging in there, sometimes you can't but feel sorry for him.
Our saviour is trapped by his mistakes, and for how long, well..

Uncle Suntou,

You know what the African Americans call "smack back...come back" in their slangs? Their girls/ladies use that to tease at men...implying they (the men) will never be able to leave them (women) for good. That is true. In the same vein, I truly believe there is something in power that is "smack back...come back!" and deny the fact...and out of the many African countries, count the number of presidents that willing left and percentage that from the others that stayed to be buried with gold coffins. Tumani (Mali), Mandella (South Africa), Obasanjo (Nigeria), etc...the others all stayed to be buried with power.

Wallahi, I seek refuge in God from the evils contained in political power.

Baldeh et al,

The term limit is of special interest to me. This is the only way to stop breeds of dictatorship in Africa. If you look at the history of coups, they come to play because someone is hanging his/her tentacles to power and unwilling to go. I bet you, if Mandella of South Africa didn't leave the time he left, power would have intoxicated him to the brim..(God forbid!) I tell you what: Mandella was wise to leave.

I do not know why African leaders (SOME) think they are the only legitimate sons or that they are the only ones capable. I for one do not aspire political leadership now or in the future (till i die) but I beg to those that do to keep a close eye on over-staying in power. The more the leaders stay in power to rectify little wrongs or cover their skeletal nibs, the more they do the damage.
