Dear soccer fans on the list,
I have just read from the the Daily Observer about the famous Zone Two
Tournament which is slated to take place in Cape Verde in couple of months
time. The tournament is actually starting on April 27th,right through to May
14th.
My concern here is weather or not the Gambian side(Scopions) can do something
better for the fans and country this time round.Gambian's soccer standards as
far as i am concerned are not impressive at the moment and i hope those in
control are making every effort to make this forth coming tourney a better
one for the country.
Again Gambia is drawn against one of its biggest arch rivals-Senegal,whom we
find extremely difficult to beat under any circumstances. Can they do it
now?are they that much prepared?are there much support given to the
team?these i believe are some of the questions that we have to ask ourselves
when such tournaments are about to take place.
Can list members who are current with the Scopions as far as preparations for
Zone Two are concerned update me on the issue as well as share their thoughts
on the subject.I hope my boss in sports Mr Adou Sey will be able to help on
this one.
The competition will take the format of two groups of four as follows for
those of you who might be interested to know:
Group A Group B
Cape Verde Guinea Conakry
S/Leone Guinea Bissau
Senegal Mali
The Gambia Mauritania
Guys, who do u think is gonna come out the champions??
Good Valantine weekend to all of the list members.
Good night!
Lamin.
