Liberia's borders remain closed but the opposition has now agreed to participate in the second round of voting. They were persuaded that even without the fraud and when all the remaining results are known, a second tour between President Johnson Sirleaf and Winston Tubman is INEVITABLE. Therefore for the sake of considered peace for Liberia, the opposition pledges to stand down and participate in the second round of voting in some 3 weeks.

I commend the opposition for demonstrating their disdain for electoral fraud in the strongest terms AND for arriving at a CONSIDERED decision for the sake of Liberia. I am very proud of them.

Haruna.

Liberia's borders with SierraLeone, La-Guinea, and Ivory Coast closed and UN peacekeepers on the ground to help maintain order.
