Solo, the case of Sekou like his contemporaries deeds make it hard for certian section of the African coummunity to see them any different.
Sekou has wide support even among the Fulbe Guinea community. Those who he was alleged to oppressed largely migrated to neigbouring countries. But Sekou like Mugabe, Nkruma, Nasser, and many others did some acts which shouldn't have happen. But in there day, any hint of pro-colonist mindset created irrational response.
It will therefore be hard for oppressed community seeing their oppressor in any other light. Although if anyone hopes to write an academic material on Sekou, his plus and minuses must be highlighted.
But no one can deny his immense contribution to cultural awakening in Guinea and his zero tolerance on caste system. The sad part of his legacy was not dealing with even those he see as arch enemies with justice and fair play. But many acts attributed to him are equally refuted by countless other sources.

Saihou Touray shall not go down in the bowels of history as a dictator but also as a Cultural revolutionary. Lets judge him in context of the time he lived in, if not, we would be throwing the baby with the birth water. His bad and good deeds shall not be thrown hence that would not do history good.
