Suntou,

Your statement *"just happen Nwaa couldn't stand fighting any longer and he
needs to put bread on the table",* underscores the predicament Gambians
have to go through being in the opposition camp. In a country where
opposing the regime almost means not being able to secure a job either
public or in the private sector, many are left with little choice but opt
to work for or with the state.

If you have no other means of survival such as private practice like
Darboe, Assan Martin, Hamat Bah and others, then it is hard to admonish
citizens for willing to work for a living. There should be a separation
between the APRC/Jammeh and the Gambian State. Unfortunately, this line
seems very blurred in the Jammeh administration and matter of fact in many
African governments.

So I think I can understand why Waa would choose to work with the state,
not only to put food on the table but also to contribute as a citizen
towards his state... As long as he doesn't come out and support policies
that oppress citizens I can forgive the likes of him, Dr. Janneh, BB
Darboe, and many others for working for the state.

Happy Independence Day...

Demba
