Haruna --

At last week's Florida GOP debate, a woman named Lynn Frazier asked the candidates a question on health care.

"I'm currently unemployed, and I found myself unemployed for the first time in 10 years and unable to afford health care benefits," she said. "What type of hope can you promise me and others in my position?"

One by one, the GOP candidates effectively told her she's on her own.

Every one of them has vowed to repeal the health reform law that would allow her to find affordable care. In fact, they've said it would be one of the first things they'd undo as president -- meaning Lynn's prior medical history and the simple fact that she's a woman would be fair game to deny her coverage again.

This is the line in the sand between Democrats and Republicans. The fight over health reform will be a defining issue this year, and we Democrats will be called to defend the historic legislation that President Obama passed.

The simple belief that we're greater together than on our own is why President Obama made passing health reform one of his signature achievements in office. And it's why we'll be fighting alongside him -- and for people like Lynn Frazier -- in the months ahead.

 Thanks,

 Patrick
