Kejau, it was not meant to be a coalition between ousainu Darboe and other
opposition parties. So the potential of darboe winning a convention is
irrelevant. Mr Darboe was not negotiating on his on behalf but inbehalf of
the United Democratic Party and that party has principles to observe and
the truth to defend in the national interest. While we are always willing
and ready to make overtures to other parties for the purpose of engendering
compromise and foster unity, if have no interest in giving comfort to the
kind of unreasonable intransigence, lies peddling, wishful idealism and the
sheer hypocrisy the likes of Sidia Jatta had been championing in thje
recent past.

The UDP had led the way in the search for unity and have made bold
overtures but without success. The facts are already in our various press
statements and. I do not intend to add anything further.

We know that pdois's Ayatollahs are too obssessed with Lawyer Darboe's
elite status, something they loathe so much (it most be a crime to be
considered an elite in the world socialism) but I think it about time they
get a life.

Thanks
Daffeh

the Diaspora meeting organized by ACID, it is convincing that we should
support the opposition group of 5 or 6 to taking the dictatorship to court
in town on issues relevant to constitutionality of the conduct of the
election, the IEC leadership tenure, among others. Beside the fact of the
brief history lesson on the failure of coalition formation, the veteran
politician explained the PDOIS policy and history, among other things. This
convinced me to join PDOIS and support their efforts in getting Gambia back
to its glory days. I am a capitalist and did not think PDOIS and their
socialist policy is the way forward for our country but my partner recently
asked me if I am president of The Gambia what policies WE will put forward
for our development and I was very surprised that Sidia Jatta proffered the
same goal and policies, as I did. Also very important was Sidia Jatta's
rebuttal of PDOIS being a tribal party, mentioning that Halifa learnt the
Mandinka language in months and he Sidia being of both Fula and Mandinka
origin. Sidia also confirmed my belief that Ousainou Darboe would have won
the leadership contest at the last coalition conference had be participated
to the end.

by using the rule of law to correct ills, as he put it. They need resources
for the legal battles and we should all create funds to support their
efforts as for the first time, we have all five or even 6 political parties
coming together for a common cause. He urged all to send crowns, cents and
pence to our respective parties and not wait until the elections.
