Waaaaaaait a minute! JDAM, you only conceded the Bamako issue to avoid being inundated by an avalanche of something. Should I take that as an unqualified concession???? You people think you're smart. Le chef rebelle touareg Ibrahim Ag Bahanga, dont l’armée malienne a refusé la proposition de trêve sur le terrain, a officiellement demandé mardi à la médiation algérienne sa réintégration dans le processus de paix, a-t-on appris auprès de l’entourage de l’intéressé.

 

The Chief of the criminal Tuareg Clan, Ibrahim Ag Bahanga, whose request for a Cease-Fire had been rejected by the Mali Army, has officially requested tuesday, via the Algerian mediator, that he wishes to be re-integrated in the Algiers Accord. (Comment: Haruna. If the Malian people wish to ascend to Bahanga's request again, I advise that they in turn request that Bahanga re-integrate first into the Tuareg tribe who are already party to the Algiers Accord. They must not allow Bahanga to negotiate his singular fate separately. In fact, the Algerian mediator should be discouraged from direct communication with Bahanga and or his clan any more. He has forfeited any claims to the Algiers Accord outside of the Tuareg clan's claims thereto). 







 

"Ibrahim Ag Bahanga a officiellement saisi la médiation algérienne pour réintégrer l’accord d’Alger et pour faire la paix avec tout le monde", a déclaré à l’AFP "Amed Ag Oussouf" connu pour être un proche du chef rebelle touareg.

 

Bahanga has expressed his desire to be re-integrated in the Algiers Accord and to make peace with everybody, declared Amed Ag Oussouf, a close associate of Bahanga. 



  



"Nous voulons la paix, la guerre n’est pas une bonne chose pour le Mali. L’Algérie peut aider tout le monde à faire la paix. Nous voulons faire la paix", a poursuivi la même source. 



  



"We want peace, war is not good for Mali. Algeria can help everybody to make peace. We want to make peace." said Ag Oussouf. (What idiots???) 



  



Interrogé par l’AFP, au sujet de la réponse donnée par l’Algérie à cette demande, Amed Ag Oussouf a affirmé:" L’Algérie n’a pas donné de réponse. Peut-être qu’ils veulent parler d’abord avec le gouvernement malien". 



  



Asked by AFPresse as to what ALgeria responded to their latest request, Amed Ag Oussouf replied: "Algeria did not give us a response. Maybe they want to speak with the Mali government first". (Very funny). 



  



Depuis quelques mois, Ag Bahanga est dans le collimateur de l’armée malienne qui vient de refuser la trêve qu’il propose. 



L’Algérie, pays médiateur dans la crise, accuse par ailleurs depuis quelques mois, Ag Bahanga de "saboter" le processus de paix. 



  



Bahanga has been in the cross-hairs of the Mali Army for some months now and ALgeria has accused him of sabotaging the Algiers Accord. 



  



L’armée malienne avait déclenché début janvier une offensive dans le nord-est destinée "à anéantir" le groupe de Ag Bahanga (de l’Alliance Touareg Nord Mali pour le changement, ATNM). 



Ces rebelles ont demandé dimanche un "cessez-le-feu", mais le ministère de la Défense a fait savoir lundi qu’il n’y aurait "pas de trêve". 



Selon les autorités, 31 rebelles du groupe d’Ibrahim Ag Bahanga ont été tués le 22 janvier dans des combats.

Et le 25 janvier, Ag Bahanga avait affirmé dans un entretien publié par le quotidien arabophone algérien El-Khabar: "Aujourd’hui, notre position est claire: la seule alternative qui s’offre à nous est la riposte et la guerre par les armes". 



L’accord de paix d’Alger signé en 2006 stipule que les Touareg ne doivent plus réclamer l’autonomie de leur région tandis que Bamako doit accélérer le développement des régions du Nord. 



  



On Jan. 25th, Bahanga had reaffirmed in an interview published by the Algerian arabic newspaper El-Khabar, "Today, our position is clear: The only alternative we have is armed rebellion". The Algiers Accord signed in 2006 stipulated that the Tuareg Tribe can no longer claim an autonomous region and encouraged Bamako to accelerate the development of the Norther Regions, including the Tuareg communities. 



  



Mais Ag Bahanga, le plus radical des chefs de groupes rebelles, demande depuis 2007 que l’armée allège son dispositif dans la zone de Tinzaouatène. Le gouvernement refuse, arguant qu’il s’agit d’un lieu de transit pour le trafic international de drogue, dans lequel il accuse Ag Bahanga d’être impliqué 



  



But Bahanga, the most radical of the clan leaders, demanded in 2007, that the Army recognises his control over the Tinzaouatene (Tinza-watan) Zone close to the Algerian border.
