Ace, I was just thinking.

Since Gambia's governments will only support art, music, and culture, when it consolidates their power, do you not think it is now time to divorce the enterprise of Art, Music, and Culture (AMC) from expectations from government? For example, AMC has enormous value for the tourist industry. Would it be impossible to pitch ideas to airlines, hotels, and restaurants in Gambia and Senegal to form an AMC Booster Group and in return, Artists, Musicians, and theatrical performers can now sustain themselves by performing to the clients and patrons of these establishements. Some of these hotels lay dormant for a good part of the year and in some countries, there is a glut of high-priced hotels.

The AMC Booster club, from their patronnage, you can construct an auditorium, a recording studio, etc. in order to build the foundation for sustenance for AMC that does not depend on government idiosyncracies. This way current and up and coming artists and performers have the sense of constancy to enable them to perfect their art and talents.

Just a thought. You may be working on something like that already. There is no future for AMC in relying on governments anywhere. Governments are seasonal. AMC is permanent. It is therefore hemmorhaging to rely on any government for sustenance and growth. Anyway, just thinking out loud. AMC is also an individual endeavour even though it has mass appeal. Therefore its growth and sustenance must be based on market principles. Not governmental subventions.

Haruna.

Ace,

Between you and Ndongo Sillah I don't know who is the entertainer? You are both so great I keep thinking you're gonna bust into a duet. I don't care what you guys say about Ndagga, I still love the gyrations. Give me Ndaga and mango juice I'm set for the night. Intoxicating my friend. La danse de....... est haram. I digress. I'm still listening.

Haruna. Table ronde. Tablerone. I think you should have Tablerone TV or NdagaTV.

Thanx Coach for sharing. This Oko is a polyvalent as my uncle Sidia is wont to quip. I kinda knew you were athletic Ace, but a rebel youth???? Well there is a lot I don't friggin know about you. You come out as a very thoughtful and generous young man though. Very enlightened and blessed. I like that. Sysy or no sysy. I continue to listen.
