One Soulaymane Kasse, a Senegalese writer of national (local) language and a
cultural actor based in Passy, region of Fatick in Senegal has sent a
goodwill message to the Gambian leader, His Excellency, Sheikh Professor
Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, expressing his admiration for him, as well as
describing him as his favourite president.

The message reads:

I am a citizen of Sene-gambia. You are my idol and I am your biggest fan
but, I can swear to Allah, His Prophet (PBUH) and Khadim Mbacke, my Wasila,
that for me, you are the best President.

This is why I wrote a poem about you entitled (Taalif) in Wollof to sing
your greatness, without any ulterior motive. En passant, I wish to pay
tribute to your charisma and to pray each day that Allah grant you, your
family and honest associates from all walks of life accompanying you in your
noble and exalting humanitarian mission of fight for the protection and
development of Islam, good health. Also, I would like to commend your
Excellency for accustoming Gambians to the culture of work.

I appreciate the way and manner in which you interact with your people
during ceremonies and religious events, to name a few. May Allah’s blessing
be upon you. May He who sees all, knows all and capable of all, reward you
for your good deeds. Ameen!!!

I retired as a teacher since 1997, but I am an agent of development with
serious sensitivities to problems affecting people. I am a trainer,
consultant on national languages, author and lecturer with vast training in
the areas of education and culture.

I wrote because, of all the Presidents, you are my choice and I choose you
without any ulterior motive. Jammeh, you are my President and I am singing
your name.
