Dear Charlotte in 2012 supporter,

Last year, the 2012 Democratic National Convention put out a call for artists and designers to create a poster to be selected as one of the official posters for the convention.

With nearly 400 submissions and over 26,000 votes, the engagement and excitement around this contest has been overwhelming. And, I couldn't be more pleased to announce that you have selected a winner from right here in Charlotte.

Congratulations, Steve Ward! Watch this video as we surprise our winner.

Steve Ward is an instructor of digital design at York Technical College and he earned his degree in graphic design from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His poster "Urban Unity" represents his love of Charlotte by using the skyline and with clasping hands show the importance for people to come together for a common cause.

Buy your own copy of Steve's winning poster by visiting our merchandise store at www.charlottein2012.com.

Sincerely,
