Every Gambia of conscience is silence with Yahya Jammeh dangerously playing on tribal politics. Yahya Jammeh need background checking. It is also time for Gambian know about serious implication in the ethnicisation of politcs in that country. If the regime have seriously harm Chief Ebrima Manneh, Kanyiba Kanyi etc and is unwilling to tell Gambians because they are victim of enforced disaapearance by illusive shifting it into tribal politics and blaming Mandinkas for his bloody failures. Yahya Jammeh thus understand the mindset of some elements within Gambian politics and is using it full time to his advantage.
It is about time if we love our country and mean what we precher condemn such outrageous remark. I have a string blood connection in two Gambia tribes and will never be muted with a silly remark from Yahya Jammeh. He is a tribalist and any tribalist will entertain such a derogative statement. Tribalism have no different from racism. If such a statement made by Gordon Brown or any UK Politicians the reaction from the media and British public will be louder and will even force the individual to resign. We in the Gambian forum are silence. Is this silence not insult to our conscience? We are thinking of Gambia to be a free and equal society which we will all use our potential so silence about tribal prejuice, sexism etc is a defeat to what we preach.
No hard feeling!
