No doubt you'll follow the story, but Hamat has a gun to the heads of his so-called "united front" colleagues.

As far as the letter of the law, it is either an NRP colour, or nothing at all. It s too risky to pursue the question of a neutral colour at this late hour.

Hamat presented a fait accompli and Halifa cannot do anything about it. The legal terrain on this particular issue of colours is a minefield and to the extent it favours Hamat, he will get his wish. Hamat can only run under NRP colours, or he may be barred from running altogether!

My informant said Assan was kind of too critical of Halifa. He wants parties to move on and avoid the unnecessary technicalities. The info is scanty at this hour.

Mr M'bai

Did Assan Martin give any reason for why Hamat should be allowed to run under an NRP banner?

Strange that a basic issue like colours was not agreed in Halifa's rush to seal a deal.

The chickens coming home?

A developing story so we wait and see if the basic information on a disagreement is even accurate

> A heated debate emerged today between Hamat Bah, the newly chosen leader of the opposition alliance, and PDOIS'S Halifa Sallah on radio Gambia over the issue of candidate registration at the IEC during nomination. Mr. Bah wants to run under the banner of his party, the NRP, as the leader of the alliance, which is indirect contrast with Halifa Sallah's position. Mr. Sallah's party wants the leader of the alliance run the elections without an individual affiliation, or image, but this doesn't went down well with Hamat Bah.
>
> The alliance is seemingly being divided due to ideological differences, as Assan Martin too weighed in to throw his support for Hamat's position. It appears that the NADD ambiguity scenario is likely short lived the existence of the alliances.
>
> Both Sallah, and Bah were in the studio, while Assan Martin, Yankuba Colley, and Lawyer Darboe phoned in.
