This is one of the situations where the rules of the game determine the next level. With their performance, a lay man like me, would have thought that they will propel to the next level. It all comes to the goal difference. It also corrects my mention of Cisse on my earlier thread on the issued red card. Eitherway, a win at home in that game is still victory for us, as far as we can analyze.

Long live African hope for the glittering cup!!

It continues with the other games………

Thanks

South Africa did excellent. They won the game, with 2 to 1. They lost ball-control in the second half, from their previous hold (about 65%) to about 40%; their defense leaked, France mounted a strong aggression, together with ball-control strategy, giving a goal to france -which was a cheap one. One would imagine an equalizer from France, had the game continued for another 10 minutes. Well, it is 90 mins with injury 3 minutes. The first half was definitely a game for South Africans.

Also, in the first half, France had a field error (mistakes) possibly about 45%, while South Africa minimized theirs at around 5% -each in overall percentile. In the second half, South Africa played an error of about 40%, and France kept theirs at around 10% -each in overall percentile.

The boys made us proud. Mandela at 90, will truly like the ending days of his life; a smiley Mandela, proud of his true struggle, and all that South Africa has accomplished, from the days of Soweto, to the days of hosting a world cup. Those that witnessed the two historic moments, are in joyous mood today, especially with the perfomance of their own team, right at home.

let us celebrate!

After that, we now ask: What next for the African teams?

Apparently, it is not working for France. South Africa scored two goals to nil ,for France. Moreover the game is 11 players (South Africa) vs 10 players (France), after the France 9, Cisse had a red card. Possibly in the second half, game changers like Henry will do better to uplift their spirit. Already, South Africa had atleast 65-70% ball control, which is a winning mechanism.

All hopes are that South Africa is winning today because the game favors them in all areas.If the momentum continues, we might at least see one more goal from South Africa. Instead of capitalizing on defense to prevent goals, they should maintain the aggression, just like they did in the first half, and aim at more goals. You can't loose by getting more goals, O yes!
