Demba

This is a better one. At least you advance some ideas.

I will go with all of those except allying with the opposition and/or helping them.

My view is we (diaspora) should stay purely democratic forces. Let opposition or should I say parties organize themselves as seen buy their members fit. We engage the parties on fight for democratic causes and not on their quest for office. That is very likely to earn us credibility both amongst Gambians and the international partners.

Again seeing some of what you have in mind differently is not important. Important is we come up with 100s or 1000s these action points will challenge us. Because the next logical question will begin to ask is but how do we get election reforms………….that logical analysis leads you to its natural conclusion. There you have a practical plan. That plan will inform the type of vehicle necessary. Resources! etc!

Hope you challenge your guest at the radio not to make blanket statement but come up with proposals. Lots of time burnt already.

Bravo again!

Burama

My point is that within the eyes of the public and for the purpose of unity it doesn't sit well to form a lone organization and appoint yourself the CEO. I was simply giving a feedback to Burama on how it appears and how many people may be reluctant to join what appears to be a personally owned organization...

The fact remains that we don't have an immediate answer to Burama's direct question "How do we take down Jammeh". I said all options are on the table.. and it is going to take multiple scenarios to bring about change in Gambia. Not a single individual or entity has the solution...

The following can bring about election victory in Gambia... And I wouldn't care who wins as long as the process is democratic and represents Gambia's interest...

We can then begin to lay down the foundation of building a Democratic society with civil society institutions and nurture an open society. This is my position. Is it the most viable probably NOT... The time to move to the next level beyond criticism is long over due...

He is entirely fine to form his own organization and it is his right as a world citizen to do that. At some point, maybe, just maybe, any organization interested in his partnership, can reach out to him to broker a deal. He have a good reputation of following what he says with action work. While I may not agree with some of his methods about the way forward, I think he is within right to do so.

So again, people have to be satisfied, if not, they will keep looking for options, organizations, groups, etc...that fits and represent them.

We have to break loose from some of these ropes....and proclaim our independence and say, "Free at last! Free at last! Free at last!"
