Sis Jabou,

Haruna has nothing better than to disect and operate upon Halifa's good deeds. He would be a much more disturbed person if he were to be denied this addiction of his. So Haruna, by all means, carry on.

Subject: Haruna Regarding your pre-occupation with Halifa's challenge to the witch hunting escapade

 Haruna, yesterda
y, in response to this
question of how others would have challenged the witch hunting differently from how  Halifa did it,

  Malang Darbo
sent you a response that included the following statement:

"..............anyone that stood the tide must be commended, least condemned for the act. .

 Should
any serious question be asked, it must be around the illegality of this
practice of perversion, and not the opposite. To amass so many
substitute for a thing so simply and plain, or implicitly question any
form of opposition to the degeneracy simply suggest a new low in our
national odyssey, and that is frightening indeed."

Malang Darbo.

I share the same view. What is important is that the chellenge was undertaken. Period. Spending time and energgy disecting and re-disecting how that challenege was undertaken, is at best a waste of time and at worse bespeaks of dubious intentions.

Furthermore, the witch hunting debacle is not the only atrocity that Yaya Jammeh and his regime have heaped on our20people, the list is long and the crimes are ongoing. Therefore, anyone who thinks they have a better idea on how best to challenge the regime does not have to wait for anyone else to lead the way for them or wait until someone else acts and then proceed to play what our Jamaican brethren call "back seat driver". There have been and will continue to be opportunities for any ordinary Gambian, aspiring leader, activist or anyone from any other category to challenge the regime and if they can show us a more effective way to do that in the process, then all the better. If you Haruna Darboe have a better and more effective way to challenge the regime, or you have people who can do so, the ongoing horror story in our beloved country presents that opportunity for them to do so on a daily basis, so let them step forward and if anyone does, I and
many others will commend them and appreciate their efforts as a contribution  in the struggle to end the suffering of our people  and will not spend time trying to disect and assign ulterior motives to their efforts.

Jabou Joh.

Subject: Re: Opportunities lost??? Jabou, Olfactor, Malang, Evian, Suntou.

I get it Jabou. So you would have handled it exactly as Halifa did. There
are a few concerns I want to bring to your attention:

1. Halifa engaged in "Fact-finding". Facts were already found by your
employed journalists and published in your paper Foroyaa and other papers and
news outlets. So would you characterize the demarche as a "fact-finding"
expedition or a "sensitization Tour" for your constituents?

2. Would you broaden your itinerary to include those areas that were
affected prior to Makumbaya and Sintet?

3. If according to you, [and only because I think that is the only common
sense way to handle it given that common sense and the rule of law is
non-existent in this government. (if it was, they would not be witch hunting)]
the "abduction and poisoning were crimes cloaked in the ruse of a
witch-hunting", would you, on hindsight, have sought the advice and company
of legal practitioners in your fact finding?

4. Because this was a national matter, would you rely on your singular
person as leader of a political party to prosecute this lawlessness? Would you
atleast convene a meeting of your alliance partners (PPP, NDAM) to set up an
alliance fact-finding mission that may or may not include the leaders of the
alliance?

5. If in fact you "consulted" with religious, civic, and other leaders,
would
you simply advise them of your plans to engage in solo-factfinding, or
would you seek their input as to the best way to approach the completion of a
crime??? Halifa did say he relied on his implied authorities as leader of a
political party to hold town-hall meetings.

I have some more concerns but I will stop here at the risk of overwhelming
you with query. Haruna. Evian, Olfactor, Laye, Suntou, Malang, Kukeh, you all
may jump in here at anytime you deem appropriate. MQJGDT. Darbo. What happened
to our sister Ginny??? Who donit??

Ruse?

Probably the same way that
Halifa handled it if I was on the ground, and only because I think that is the
only common sense way to handle it given that common sense and the rule of law
is non-existent in this government. (if i
t was, they would not be witch
hunting) I would Speak out against it and if that does not have any effect,
(which would be a given) find out from the victims what they were subjected to
and tell the World. Expose them to the highest heights and if my voice has
influence in certain important circles around the globe, I would use those
connections to bring pressure to bear.

Are you fishing for good ideas
  Haruna?

Haruna,

Halifa already h
andled it according to the way that was
available to him, he asked the
pertinent questions ot the pertinent authorities and stated what his

plan
was with regard to that, went to those affected in an attempt to get the
facts from them, and  spoke up and brought it to the attention of the
World and suffered the consequences on behalf of the Gambian people and his
actions probably prevented the carnage from continuing. You're a smart
brother, I am sure you already know  that so what is your purpose for
asking a question with such an obvious answer that a first grader can give
it to you? I refer you to the coverage in Foroyaa and other Gambian
publications, on Halifa's actions and his words with regard to this issue.
Look there to refresh your mind about something you no doubt already have
    the answer to.

Or witch-hunting if you're a PDO ISard??

Haruna. Remember newspaper reports abound informing on the Mass
Poisoning campaign. Including Halifa's own newspaper Foroyaa. And Halifa is
leader of a political party in PDOIS. MQJGDT. Darbo. Al
    mutawakkil.
