Ebrima,

Get your facts right. I had an EEC scholarship and not a Gambia Government
scholarship. Irecieved my air ticket from Mrs Reeves on the 25th August 1983
and left for England on the 7th September. And do you know why I could not
get a Gambia Government scholarship? Because I did not have an uncle at the
GTTI who would give me an apprentice job I was not competent to handle.
Remember how, some six months after your appointment to that position Radio
ran adverts for a week inviting suitably qualified Gambians to apply for the
same position? According to the advert, applicants needed to have X GCE A’
Levels or Y O’Levels or atleast 6 months apprenticeship in a recognized
institution. And guess what; I was the guy who tutored you privately for
free. Since this is the way you want to reward, what can I say?

All the best,

Pamodou.
