International Students Welfare Officer
The University of Manchester has an international reputation for research, training and scholarship and attracts students from more than 100 countries. Consequent upon the forthcoming retirement of the present postholder, the University is looking to appoint an International Students Welfare Officer.
Duties will include, inter alia: responsibility for providing information and advice to international students on a wide variety of relevant matters; providing assistance and help with problems; the
organisation of orientation courses, social events and workshops; and the production of information material/newsletters.
Applicants should preferably have a first degree and/or appropriate professional qualification, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and relevant experience of UK higher education, in particular dealing directly with international students.
Salary will be on the scale ALC Grade 1/2 (£16,286 to £24,479 p.a.) according to qualifications and experience and the post is tenable with effect from 6 December 1999.
