The president, Yayha Jammeh, Saturday November 4, made a handsome cash
donation of D10,000 to Gambia College students. The president made the
donation shortly before he met the Brikama council of elders at the Gambia
College school of public health hall as part of the just ended meet the
people tour.
The cultural troupe of the College sang for first lady Zainab Jammeh and
her lovely child, baby Mariam Jammeh. In the company of SoS Education, Ann
Therese Ndong Jatta, College principal Jenung Manneh and other officals,
the joyful president could be seen beaming with a broad smile in
appreciation of the song. When the song ended president Jammeh took out
two bundles of cash which he handed to principal Manneh who in turn handed
it over to the college culture minister, Babucarr Joof.
Mr Joof told Daily Observer "I thanked the president on behalf of the
students for this gift." Gambia college students main union president
Alhaji Bajinka told Daily Observer that the donation would go a long way
in assisting the college students. He thanked the president and promised
positive utilisation of the money.
