New Information Technology Website LaunchedNew Information Technology Website Launched
August 11, 1999

CAPE TOWN, South Africa (PANA) - South African Digital Planet, has launched a business to business website aimed at the Information Technology Community.

The website has three innovative features - one is an on-line computer store, a community forum where users can log in to share information and a comprehensive auction facility.

It provides a meeting place for the IT community whereby it can exchange ideas and information.

The latest content from around the world will be available on the news and product pages and specialists will host discussions on a wide range of internet and technical issues.

The company has entered into partnerships with a number of news services that will provide ''hot off the web'' IT news.

For the first time in South Africa, users can now specify the type of information that interests them.

At the touch of a button they can access the very latest IT information within seconds, on product, special prices or news, thus cutting down on the wasted hours normally spent in searching for information on the Internet.

Over 10,000 computer products will be available from the on-line store.

A broad range of product from monitors and PC's to hard-and software, peripherals and networking equipment will be offered at highly competitive rates.

Potential buyers can select any product from a detailed on-line catalogue containing relevant technical data, a photograph of the product and independent reviews of current users.

Digital Planet's website is: www.digitalplanet.co.za
