First of all, UDP ended their boycott in 2003 and solely and successfully
sponsored Ousman Rambo Jatta in the Cape point bye-election. This was well
before the jarra west bye-election which was triggered by the imprisonment
of the then Majority, Baba Jobe in 2004.

Secondly, there was no bye-election involving Kemeseng Jammeh in 2003 as the
Jarra West Seat was at the time already and lawfully occupied by Baba Job,
the then majority leader.

Thirdly, Kemeseng Jammeh was not a UDP candidate in the 2005 bye-election.
He contested as a NADD candidate following a Supreme Court ruling

Fourthly, all resources mobilised and /or contributed were done under the
auspices of NADD, not UDP.

Fifthly, the UDP leader met his own personal expenses to travel to Wuli West
and Upper Saloum in support of NADD candidates [ Sidia Jatta and Hamat]
while all others were siphoning their expenses from the joint coffers.

Sixthly, the UDP leader also personally met his air travel expenses to
travel back to The Gambia and support the candidature of Halifa Sallah. He
even made it a personal duty to witness his nomination and so he did. UDP
resources were used in this bye-election too.

Seventhly, notwithstanding the above overtures, Halifa Sallah still remains
too big in his shoes that he remains adamant in his refusal to talk to the
UDP leader on the coalition issue.

Eighthly, UDP's decision not to contest the Wuli East bye-election is purely
based on national interest considerations. We do not expect PDOIS to
reciprocate this in future elections.

Ninthly, the UDP Youth Wing has expressed to our constituency chairman in
Wuli East the party’s adopted policy of one opposition candidate in respect
of this bye-election and have asked him to urge UDP supporters to support
and vote for that candidate, whoever he/she is and whichever party he/she
belongs to.

Tenthly, UDP's focus in Wuli East is now geared towards preparing the ground
for the upcoming presidential election.

THE END.

*Note;* my post is not intended to engage that insulate
and remote-controlled disciple but to better inform the readership.

Thanks

Daffeh
