 Haruna,

I have had to deal with your slow hand in postings here for a while. I am reminded that people normally get very busy.

This is a great posting Haruna and Wade must have had his regrets especially some of the negative developments like the one you shared associated with his regime, together with the whole way that his regime ended. People who believe they are freedom fighters must as well be very careful, otherwise they fall a trap of the very things they preach against. Politicians are the type....I have little knowledge on the network of embezzlement funds to France, US, etc....which I don't doubt at all and I look forward to more of your submission over time.

Yero

Thank you Yero for the google translation. It captures the gist of the story. Senegal being a province of France has its good and bad. The good prevailed this time. It is funny how most of Senegal's stolen funds end up in France, USA, Belgium, or Tunisia.

 Haruna.

Haruna,

I read this one through google translate. It is clear from what we've been seeing lately that the Wade administration had its hands in embezzlement. I lost track of the Karim Wade probe. Some politicians never take lessons from what happened in the past. That is very unfortunate.

Thanks for sharing.
Yero

A source close to the former President Wade imprisoned for embezzlement

An advisor to former President Abdoulaye Wade was charged and imprisoned for "complicity in embezzlement" at the sale in 2007 of a mobile license in Sudan group Sudatel, Does learned on Thursday judicial source. Thierno Ousmane Sy, former Advisor Information Technology and Communication (ICT) Wade (2000-2012), was "imprisoned" in Dakar on Wednesday, the source said. In a statement issued in September 2007, the Senegalese government stated that the allocation process, begun in 2000, had led to "the sale at a price of two hundred million dollars" for the third mobile license in this group Sudan. Sudatel addition, with the Expresso brand, two telecommunications companies operate in Senegal: Sonatel, the main telecommunications company in Senegal and a subsidiary of France Telecom and Millicom Cellular International SA (Luxembourg-based multinational), with the Tigo brand. This case occurs when the Senegalese justice investigates Senegal and abroad, especially in France, to which several former leaders of ex-ministers Wade for alleged illegal enrichment. AFP.
