BRAVERY The flag bearer must never run away either in defeat or in victory. The flag bearer must be prepared to risk every thing for sake of his or her supporters.Cowards have no place in politics and are the ones who die many a times, heroes die once and they die in dignity.  
   SELFLESSNESS The flag bearer must have the interest of nation at heart and a person who is neither greedy nor power hungry.  
   INTELLECTUAL MATURITY The flag bearer must be an individual who has capacity to focus on the issues at hand rather than focusing on trivial, archaic traditions, petty issues and character assassination. Intellectual maturity presupposes honesty and dignity.  
   PATRIOTIC I want to see a flag bearer who have the interest of The Gambia at heart. A flag bearer who see The Gambia as one community speaking different languages. A flag bearer who sees these languages not as different groups but a mere tool of communication.  
   KNOWLEDGE Knowledge is not merely education, it is sum total of the experience human beings have gathered in nature and the societies they have live. the process of gaining this knowledge is what education is all about. the tools in acquiring this can be be formal(schools, colleges and universities) or informal. A flag bearer must possess this quality to be commander of both his own destiny and the commander of the party or alliance she or he leads.  
   PRINCIPLED A flag bearer must take a principled stance at all times no matter what. Any one who compromise these principles might compromise his or her country, party or alliance.
  While I have confidence in the Gambian people I hope they would select a flag bearer who even in defeat will be a defeat in dignity. If a flag bearer who has no credibility is selected it will be a humiliating defeat.
  The only person capable of defeating Jammeh is one who has the credibility and the respect of even Jammeh. Jammeh will be very happy if a reactionary is selected as a flag bearer, this will be like gifting him the elections.
