Mawdo Bailo,

Thanks for weighing in. I'm just being real. I have high regards for Ron, but I think he needs to tone down his language. He is in the position of discrediting the BBC reporter without resorting to profanity. Just a thought.

   Ron,

Calm down. He reports and you decide. Be civil and move on. Fofana's report does not decide the fate of our opposition. Just chill. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: Haruna Darbo

This Fofana idiot is fucking with us.     How does his radio show or report emergency become an urgency for Gambia's opposition party leaders??? The show can go to hell for all we care. We are concerned with a nation's governance not a shady-tree journalist's show.     Plus, the idiot needs to be schooled in the difference between a tardy response and a REFUSAL to respond. Does Fofana know that everyone is not sitting at a computer or on the internet waiting for e-mail communication??? That is the laziest way to communicate - E-mail. What about those who don't even have reliable internet service or access. These BBC blowhards are cocksuckers.     Like I said, I'm not even talking about the nuances of email communication and its deficiencies. I'm focused on the lies inside of Umaru's tabloid gossip that he's passing for an investigative report. The devil is in the
friggin detail. Haruna. And fuck complaining through BBC channels. I do my complaints right here. So whatever this BBC personality is that is encouraging me to complain directly to the BBC instead of on Ellen, I say the idiots can come here t get the friggin complaint. Next time they'll think twice before publishing garbage. MQJGDT. Darbo. Al Mu'Umin.     JDAM, I'll share with you some ideas because I see you are fascinated with this NADD business. You need to let it go men. We must not hold ourselves hostag e to a debilitating arrangement that may only have peripheral affect on our solution matrices. I gotta go see Tiger at Eastlake for now. See you my good man. Sha-Lone. /~\

Fofana still fall short in accepting his error in judgement. Ousaionou as reported on some online newspapers is also on travel. Did Fofana knows the schedules of the party leader? Did he know whether Ousainou has access to internet prompto as he was alluding to?     In future, he should plan his interviews and talks well ahead to alert respective groups or individuals about his programs. This will help make issues much clearer. This is not to say, we don't want our party leaders to be accountable and promt in dealing with queries. The party leaders need to adjust to modern urgency and timeliness whilst catering for their every day survival. Fofana may be forgiven this time, but the BBC is too major as an opinion vehicle to play with people's intentions.

Thank you very much sir for your email. As you may have noticed from my auto reply I am on vacation but am taking time off to quickly respond to your email.

As you may see from the email chain below, I wrote to you on 22 August just a day after speaking to you on the phone. You replied almost two weeks later even though I had stressed to you in that telephone conversation that a quick response to the questions was required because of the short time line for my research. Frankly if you had done so even a week later,
it could still have made it into the magazine which was running far behind time. And the fact that you didn't even acknowledge receipt of the email to give you some time, did not help either and made it apparent, at least up to then, that you did not wish to reply to it.

In my reply to your response, which like I say came almost two weeks late, I did make it clear to you that it was far too late for the magazine but that I would make a passing reference to it in my radio report on the issue which I did and you can still listen to that on the BBC website.

The article in question did not cause any undue harm to anyone as it clearly did not set out to do that, and if only you had got in touch with me in good time, this would have been avoided.

I hope we avoid a repeat of this in the future.

 All the best Sir.

   Hello Mr. Fofana,

I read with dismay that I "refused to comment via email" whilst I was out of the country on vacation.  I would have expected that you would state that at the time of going to press you had not received a reply from me.  Your email to me dated 4th September, 2009 in which you indicated that my reply came a little bit too=2 0late for the Focus on Africa Magazine article proves that I did not "refuse" to comment.  In fact, you indicated that you will use some of my answers as quotes in your presentation on Gambia.

I hope in the future you will not rush to conclusions
that paint a negative picture of interviewees.

I have copied a gentleman who saw your piece and commented on it in one of the Gambia fora.

 Regards,

 Ousainu Darboe
