Thanx for sharing this moving story Ky. What I wanna know is how is a "pit-bull terrier type" or any breed of dog or animal determined illegal to exist???????????????????? I mean I can see where a cloned animal can be declared illegal but a cross-breed?????????? Who are these people to determine this dog breed illegal??? Are they the boss of dogs???? This is outrageous!!!!!!!!! And Ireland of all places??? It shatters my love for Ireland and the Irish people somewhat. What????????

I heard about this case through a dear friend when Lennox was first taken from it's family. I have never read such a case where the decision to put down this dog never stood up to the mere facts presented and why this family was never allowed to see their dog through the entire process is beyond belief. This dog was microchipped, neutered and as a matter of fact licensed by the same council every year. There was also the option of allowing the dog to be adopted by Victoria Stillwell, who is a well known dog trainer, yet this council still insisted the dog was a "danger to society" but, the dog had never done anything to anyone.
 
I have read too many articles where dogs have saved humans from disaster whether, it was from a fire, an intruder or a recent pit bull type that saved a New York Cop's Mom from being hit by a train and endured a severe injury in the process. I just think its up to humans to give that same support and love back to our canine friends and here is a prime example of a failure by a city council to not show some compasion to this dog nor to the dog's family and work for the benefit of a  best case senario for all.
