Joe,
I do not think they intended to deceive their listener
as the line was not very clear and they must have thought they had the
president, as the phone number was for the state house and the state house
soldiers answered the phone. What they did not count on was the 'ndongo'
at the state house playing them. They were just very hungry but should
have heeded the warnings from the interviewee about him not being the
president.
What else can they do, apart from apologizing,
resign?
