Elhadj,

I hope you are being sarcastic, because whether it was taken as Ebou did or
taken in secret as other did, it all amounts to the same thing, and as far as
I am concerned, they are all thieves, whether they took it during the Jawara
Era or now in various forms. A thief is a thief, and no amount of smoothing
over can ever change that. If one takes what does not belong to them, and
worse still, if what they took was entrusted to them on behalf of the people,
or by the people it puts them into a category that no decent person wants to
belong to.

Yes, mentioning the thievery practiced by our government officials past and
present very much belongs on Gambia-L, and why?
Because this is a gathering of Gambians, and if such talk does not belong
here, then where in heaven's name does it belong then, in the closet? We have
done too much of that, always trying to hush hush the misdeeds of those who
should exercise the highest moral character because they are the guardians of
what little assets we have,
and all that this does is to send the message that one can do anything and
get away with it. No more. If they do it, we will talk about it loud and
clear for the whole World to hear.No hard feelings Elhadj, and i am sure you
will agree with me because i do believe you are a man of ethics, and truth
can never be the equivalent of falsehood as the holy Qur'an tells us.
