I am being informed that Yelema's alliance with other Malian opposition parties (PUR) stands at 19 member parties currently and that they envisage 40 member parties by July this year. Wow. You will recall that Mali has some 100 plus political parties. This alliance PUR then harmonizes those numerous political platforms only this time around NATIONAL ISSUES rather than the disparate sentimental groupings.

This is what democracy envisages.. Space for the ventilation of multitude desires and expressions to later voluntarily converge around common national desires and expressions when they prosecute NATIONAL ELECTIONS. Each member-party of PUR will retain its unique identity and fortunes. Closer to the election in 2012, they will coordinate a common campaign for the Presidency but separate campaigns for the legislature and municipalities as they wish. It could very well be that among the 40 expected member parties, there will be some who will have such similar platforms and issues that a permanent merger among them will result from the further proximity engendered by the PUR alliance.

I am informed the PUR alliance is not intended to, neither do they desire to adjust or change the consciousness of the Malian people. They intend to accept and work with the infinite permutations of the peoples' consciousnesses.

 Haruna.

If the opposition political parties of Gambia who desire an alliance wish to have the President of Yelema and newly elected Mayor of Commune 4, El Hadj Hon. Moussa Mara, to visit Gambia and share some ideas with them, all they have to do is say "YES" and it will be done with the minimum delay. I encourage the partisans of UDP, NRP, PDOIS, PPP, and GPDP to share this offer with their leaders.

Haruna. This is not brain surgery. For consolation, there is nothing the people do that the same people cannot undo.

 REUNION:

of Mali. I will afford some transummary. Perhaps this example will demonstrate to Gambia's political parties that if alliance to remove Yahya is your desire, it would not have to be unduly complicated to obviate the alliance itself.

Background:
You will recall that sometime last year, negotiations were underway among some 6 political parties in Mali on how to combine their fortunes and logistics based on a singular goal of replacing ATT once the latter's term of office expires in 2012. Mind you, ATT is a hero of Mali. Therefore his removal is not desired for wholesale crimes against the people of Mali. His REPLACEMENT is only a natural course of democratic life. This is significant because there are no existential reasons for these parties to form an alliance to replace ATT and you will be proud of the seriousness and sobriety with which they handled this alliance. And unlike in the case of Gambia, the alliance is not between 4 or 5 parties, but SIX political parties with more expected to join later. And these political parties are among the youngest political parties in Mali. None of them has been in existence longer than 20 years and their average ages of existence in Mali is 5 years. Now here's the transummary:

From a Vice President of Yelema.....

[Le parti YELEMA a signé une plateforme d’alliance politique avec plusieurs autres partis tels que CODEM, MPLUS-RAMATA, (informations disponible au niveau de M.Diawarra Zoumana le permanent du siège) etc.] AD

Yelema has signed a platform of political alliance (memorandum of undertanding) with several other parties such as CODEM, MPLUS-Ramata, (further detail is available with Mr. Zoumana Diawara, the permanent secretary).

AD

This alliance is called Parties United for The Republic (PUR) has garnered 15 signatures. The alliance has as objective, to prosecute the presidential election of 2012 as one. Today, MPLUS-Ramata assumes the presidency of the alliance for a period of 6 months. The council of Party Presidents is the executive organ of the alliance.

AD

The signatories to the alliance have the same objective and share the same vision for Mali. PUR has as objective; to consolidate our fortunes and to engender further electoral gains by combining our efforts. As was intimated by AD, this alliance is not a division of a cake (Hon. Hamat Bah). It is the dynamism of each and every constituent party that will determine her leadership role in the political arena. Allahu wakubaru!!! Regarding Yelema, an adhoc alliance commission is put in place to coordinate alliance matters. This adhoc commission is led by the 5th VP of Yelema. A launching ceremony for the alliance is expected to take place on April 2nd, 2011.

[Ce lancement se fait sous la houlette de M. DA au niveau de Yelema qui doit mobiliser 700 personnes. Toujours au niveau de Yelema, M.AD est chargé de piloter les travaux d’examen et de validation de règlement intérieur des PUR.] AD

This inauguration ceremony will be coordinated for Yelema by Mr. DA, who will mobilize some 700 personalities of Yelema. Still on the behalf of Yelema, Mr AD is charged with supervision of the alliance's deliberations and to synchronize our party's modus operandi with that of the alliance PUR.

Haruna.
