Phoday Jarjussey, a Gambian based in the United
Kingdom is running on the Labour Party ticket for the
Hillingdon Council election on May 2.
Mr Jarjussey, one of three Labour candidates (Janet
Gardner and Peter Ryerson) for the Hillingdon Council,
is promising to improve the local environment and
addressing anti-social behaviour.
A graduate of the University of York, Mr Jarjussey and
his family have lived in Hayes for seven years.
In his spare time, he enjoys working for the local
community in a voluntary capacity, and assists in the
office of the local MP, John McDonnell.

The Gambia in various capacities as permanent
secretary at the Ministry of Works and Communication,
at the Office of the President and at the Ministry of
Natural Resources and the Environment in the 1990s. He
left the civil service following the 1994 coup d'etat
